He’s taken a bit of a step back this season with the emergence of LaMelo and Bridges, but he’s still put together quite a nice season averaging 20.8 PA. His usage has dropped from 23.5% last season to 20.5% while all the tracking stats are down across the board. There are some lineup combination on the Hornets where he is the 4th option but without Rozier and LaMelo tomorrow, he’s going to be 1st or 2nd option the entire time he’s on the court. Expect he’ll have the ball in his hands quite a lot, especially in the non Ish minutes without the Hornets having a backup PG. We’ve seen Borrego run some really tight rotations in the past, and with the lack of bodies Hayward could get into the high 30s here. Has covered this in 4 straight. Definitely a stronger play if Trae is out as it takes away some of the blowout risk, and I might add to this in the morning if that’s the case.
