He had it rolling last night going 11-15 finishing with 27 points, so Doc rode the hot hand as they were trailing the entire night, getting him right up to 42 minutes. Embiid had just his second sub 30% usage game of the season (remarkably low 24%) and was visibly frustrated when he wasn’t getting the ball so I feel very good that he’ll be looking to dominate tonight in what is a great matchup for him. We saw last week when they versed the Hornets and he had the good matchup that they were happy to feed him so expecting something similar here. This number is above Maxey’s season average of 17.0, which included that hot stretch with all the 76ers guys out. We have more than enough of a sample at 327 minutes of Embiid, Curry, Maxey, Harris on the floor together and Maxey is clearly the low man at just 12.0 points per 36. He has stayed under this line in 14 of the 17 games he has played with Embiid. Fine with taking Embiid’s over here too.

He was the high man in minutes against the Warriors and I expect that to be the same here or close to at least. He played 38 there and we know Thibs is always more than happy to give his starters big minutes so with an island game today and all the outs for the Knicks he should log heavy minutes again. He finished that game with 14/1/4 against the leagues best defence despite going just 4-15 from the field. The role was good and gets a far better matchup against the Rockets who have been giving up some huge lines with the 28th ranked defence over the last 2 weeks while playing at the leagues fastest pace.

Minutes play here as he played 14 first half minutes yesterday after getting the start then just 4 in the second half in the abysmal blowout L, making the overall 18 minutes look low and bringing this line right down from. Might even get some Sengun/Theis overlap against the bigger Knicks front-court.
