MR BRIGHTSIDE DELIVERS AGAIN
February 13, 2024
MR Brightside reasserted his position as Australia’s most reliable galloper with his determined effort to win the Group 1 Orr Stakes to kick off another exciting campaign for him.
His co-trainer Ben Hayes pointed out that it augured well for the rest of his campaign as he hadn’t won first-up before in the autumn.

“He’s been beaten in the Autumn first up every time so if history repeats, this is a first for him,” Hayes said.
His jockey Craig Williams was again in awe of Mr Brightside saying it was a privilege to ride such a horse but he admitted it was hard work.
“He’s just got an amazing ability but great will to win,” Williams said

It was one of Mr Brightside’s best wins as he was slow to begin and even with 200 metres to go there was an element of doubt as to whether he could get home in time to grab Pride Of Jenni and Buffalo River.
The plan for autumn from the Hayes brothers for Mr Brightside is for him to start in the Futurity Stakes, the All-Star Mile both at Caulfield before running in the Australian Cup at Flemington on March 29.
Then they will decide whether he runs in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick or head to Hong Kong for the Champions Mile at the end of April.
