Luka Doncic is on an absolute tear at the moment. Exactly one week after scoring 51 points in a 142-130 Lakers win over the Chicago Bulls, the six-time NBA All-Star point guard from Ljubljana, Slovenia recorded the second most points he has ever scored in a single contest on Thursday.
Doncic scored 60 points in a 134-126 Lakers win over the Miami Heat. He made 18 of 30 field goals, nine of 17 three point shot attempts and 15 of 19 free throws. Doncic also added seven rebounds, five steals and three assists, and was a +7 in 37 minutes and 36 seconds of time on the basketball court.
The most points Doncic has scored in a game was 73 points. That came in a 148-143 Dallas Mavericks win over the Atlanta Hawks on January 26, 2024. Doncic also scored 60 points on December 27, 2022 in a 126-121 Mavericks win over the New York Knicks on December 27, 2022.Â
This was the second most number of points a player has scored in a game this season. Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat had 83 points in a 150-129 Heat win over the Washington Wizards on March 10.Â
Doncic is one of two Lakers this season to score 50 points in a game. The other was Auston Reaves of Newark, Arkansas, who had 51 points on October 21 in a 127-120 Lakers win over the Sacramento Kings on October 26.Â
Only two players in the NBA have had multiple 50 point games this season. The other as Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic of Sombor, Serbia. He had 55 points on November 12 in a 130-116 Nuggets win over the Los Angeles Clippers and 56 points on Christmas Day in a 142-128 Nuggets win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.Â
