LPGA star Lexi Thompson of Coral Springs, Florida is pregnant with her first child according to the Canadian Press on Tuesday. She is expecting a girl and is due in February.
Thompson married Max Provost of Delray Beach, Florida, a clinical sales representative at Inuitive Surgical in March. She is no longer golfing a full schedule, and is only going part time now on the LPGA Tour. There were initial reports two years ago that Thompson retired, but the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship winner later stated her words were taken out of context and she never intended to fully retire, and just have a scaled back schedule.
Thompson is scheduled to golf this weekend in Portland, Oregon. The next major in women’s golf will be the Chevron Championship in Houston at the end of April. The Chevron Championship will be approximately two months after Thompson is expected to give birth.
According to Beth Ann Nichols of Golfweek in 2025, American Alison Lee of Los Angeles, California returned to competitive golf four months after giving birth to son Levi. Then in 2026, Nichols reported that 2018 Women’s British Open champion Georgia Hall of Bournemouth, England returned to the LPGA Tour three months after giving birth to son Conor. Interestingly, Lee, Thompson and Hall are very close in age. Hall is 30 years old, while Thompson and Lee are both 31 years old. ‘
Thompson has won 11 times on the LPGA. However, she has not been in the winner’s circle since 2019. Thompson was ranked as high as fourth in the world in 2015 and then in 2017.
