LeBron James Evacuates From $23m Home Due To The California Wildfires

There are times when NBA superstars need to take a backseat to basketball because of real-life hardships or heartbreak. This is the situation currently facing Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

On Monday, James was among the many Southern Californians who had to evacuate from their homes because of the thick California wildfires that are violently traveling through the state.

James took to Twitter, to explain the severity of the situation. He prayed for the families that could be affected by the fires and encouraged all people to get to safety as soon as possible. He also said these fires were “no joke” and wished the first responders the best in putting the fires out.

Unfortunately, the wildfires in Southern California have been too frequent in recent years. Firefighters are doing their best to try and put out the flames in severe conditions.

At this time it appears the Los Angeles Lakers will play the Memphis Grizzlies at Staples Center on Tuesday as regularly scheduled. The Lakers have a record of two wins and one loss and the Grizzlies are at one win and two losses.

So far in 2019-20, the Lakers have beaten the Utah Jazz 95-86 and the Charlotte Hornets 120-101. In both of the Lakers’wins, James has recorded a double-double. He had 32 points and 10 assists (led Lakers in both categories) against Utah and 20 points and 12 assists against the Hornets.

The Grizzlies are coming off an emotional 134-133 overtime win over the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday. Grizzlies rookie point guard Ja Morant (Memphis’s first-round pick, second overall out of Murray State) led the team with a career-high 30 points.
