Falcons trade seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones to the Titans

There was a significant trade in the National Football League on Sunday between the Atlanta Falcons and Tennessee Titans. According to Adam Maya of nfl.com, the Falcons traded seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Julio Jones of Foley, Alabama to the Titans with a sixth round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft for a second round draft pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and a fourth round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Jones, who over the years has developed as an elite wide receiver, has played his entire NFL career with the Falcons. Last season, he had 51 catches for 771 yards and three touchdowns. Jones missed seven games due to a hamstring injury.
Twice in his career, Jones has led the NFL in receiving yards. He had 1871 yards in 2015, and 1677 yards in 2018. Jones also led the NFL in receptions with 136.
Over the last decade, Jones was also selected to the Pro Bowl in 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. He was also a first-team All-Pro in 2015 and 2016.

Jones was initially selected in the first round, sixth overall, by the Falcons in the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. While at ‘Bama he was the 2008 SEC Freshman of the Year and won the 2010 Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game. At the Rose Bowl Stadium, the Crimson Tide beat the Texas Longhorns 37-21.
During his time in the NFL, Jones came very close to winning a Super Bowl. While with the Falcons in 2017, he had four catches for 87 yards in the biggest NFL game of the year. Atlanta had a gigantic 28-3 lead, but ended up losing 34-28 to the New England Patriots, in the biggest collapse in Super Bowl history.Â
