Danuel House Jr. apologizes for his actions during the Orlando bubble

According to Postmedia News on Sunday, Houston Rockets swingman Danuel House Jr. of Houston, Texas, has apologized for his inappropriate actions during the 2020 National Basketball Association playoffs. While teams were in the NBA bubble in Orlando this past summer, House was banned for trying to sneak a woman into his hotel room.

It was determined on September 11, 2020, that House Jr. had violated the coronavirus safety guidelines, and was no longer allowed to participate for the Rockets in the 2020 NBA playoffs. House’s final game of the 2020 NBA Playoffs was game two of the Western Conference semifinal, a 117-109 Los Angeles Lakers win over the Rockets, on September 6.

After House was no longer eligible to play for the Rockets in the postseason, Houston was given a beatdown by the Lakers in the final three games of the second round series. The Lakers beat the Rockets by 43 points overall, and the loss of House was extremely missed.

While playing small forward, House was averaging a respectable 11.4 points per game in the postseason. With House no longer playing, P.J. Tucker’s production dropped significantly, as he only scored 11 points in 100 minutes of action. In game four, a 110-100 Lakers win, which put them up three games to one at the time, Tucker had a goose egg, as he scored zero points in 33 minutes of action.

In 2020-21, House is expected to share time at small forward with Eric Gordon. It will be interesting to see as well how the rest of the Rockets players adjust to John Wall as their point guard. Wall was traded from the Washington Wizards to the Rockets for Russell Westbrook last week.
