Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will miss a second straight game with an ankle injury after coach Jesse Minter ruled him out of Sunday’s AFC North clash with the Cleveland Browns.
Minter confirmed on Friday (US time) that Tyler Huntley will start again at quarterback, NFL.com reported, with ESPN also reporting the decision. Jackson did not practise at all during the week.
The two-time AP NFL Most Valuable Player hurt his ankle in Baltimore’s Week 4 win over the Tennessee Titans. Sitting out Sunday means he is now certain to miss multiple games in a season for the second year in a row, and for the fourth time in six seasons, according to NFL.com.
Huntley gets another chance
Huntley started in Week 5 against the Atlanta Falcons and, after looking uncomfortable for much of the night, completed 11 straight passes late to rally the Ravens to a 30-23 overtime win. He finished 24 of 32 for 201 yards, with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown.

Sunday will be Huntley’s 13th start for Baltimore, where he is 6-6 as a starter. He has been on Cleveland’s books twice without ever playing a game for the Browns.
Monken meets his old team
The Browns are led by first-year head coach Todd Monken, who spent the previous three seasons as the Ravens’ offensive coordinator and knows both Jackson and Huntley well.

The Ravens (4-1) sit on top of the AFC North and visit the Browns (3-2) at 1pm ET on Sunday, which is 4am AEDT on Monday.
Reports earlier in the week had given Jackson a “realistic” chance of playing against Cleveland, NBC Sports noted. Baltimore will now be hoping to have him back for its Week 7 home game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
