December 27, 2024

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson of Pompano Beach, Florida simply sizzled on Christmas Day. The 27-year-old two-time NFL MVP, made National Football League history on Wednesday by becoming the all-time leader in rushing yards among quarterbacks.
Jackson now has 6110 rushing yards with the Ravens since 2018. That is one more yard than Michael Vick of Newport News, Virginia, who had 6109 rushing yards with the Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers from 2001 to 2015.
So far this season, Jackson has 852 yards rushing. That is 19th most in the NFL, and most among quarterbacks. Jackson also leads the NFL with 6.6 rushing yards per attempt. The Ravens actually have a strong running attack. Ravens running back Derrick Henry of Yulee, Florida leads the NFL with 14 rushing touchdowns, and is second in the NFL in rushing yard with 1783. The only running back with more yards than Henry this season is Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles. The native of The Bronx, New York has 1838 rushing yards.
On Sunday, we saw exceptional offense and defense from the Ravens in a 31-2 clobbering over the Houston Texans. The only two points the Texans scored came on a safety when Henry was unable to get out of his own end zone on a rushing attempt. The offense in the 29 point Ravens win came on the ground from Jackson and Henry. Jackson had 87 yards rushing and Henry had 147 yards rushing. One of Jackson’s rushes was a 48 yard touchdown run.
With the win, the Ravens improve to a record of 11 wins and five losses. They lead the AFC North.
