James Harden is having a significant impact in the early stages as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. On Monday according to Sam Quinn of CBS Sports, Harden became the first player in NBA history to have a triple-double with a minimum line of 30-15-10, without recording a single turnover in a 124-113 Brooklyn Nets win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Harden finished the game with 30 points, 15 assists, and 14 rebounds. It was his eighth triple-double of the season and eighth triple-double since he was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets on January 13.
Harden played 44 minutes and two seconds in the contest. He made 12 of 23 field goals, three of seven three-pointers, and three of four free throws. Of his 14 rebounds, 10 were defensive rebounds, and four were offensive rebounds. Harden also had two steals, and was a +16. The only negative statistic Harden had on his scorecard was the fact he had three personal fouls.
The 14 rebounds Harden had against the Nets were a season-high. Twice while with the Rockets, Harden had 17 rebounds in a game. However, on both occasions, the Rockets lost. The first time came in a 123-114 Houston loss to the Detroit Pistons on January 20, 2016, and the second time came in a 108-104 Houston loss to the Indiana Pacers on August 12, 2020, in the Orlando bubble.
With the win, the Nets improved to a record of 23 wins and 13 losses. They are currently second in the Eastern Conference. and only half a game back of the first-place Philadelphia 76ers, at 23 wins and 12 losses.
