Horses You Must Follow From Ascot 28th November
December 1, 2020
The rail out 5m on a massive 10 race card, signs looked somewhat concerning early when after the first 2 races it appeared the rail was hot and leaders were gonna be heavily advantaged by finding said rail.
Although throughout the day the track did tend to favour those up on-speed, with 9/10 winners settling in the first half of the field, it wasn’t impossible to win from off it (She’s Got Merit/Elite Street to name a couple). You didn’t want to be too far off that box seat spot in the run to win, and having said that, I still thought the track played relatively well overall.
Lorentinio
- Race: 2
- Distance: 1400m
- Class: 72+
This was a really good win by a horse that 1st up was still probably under done in the sense that he is only going to be much better for the run. Brown was able to control the tempo out in front and hold off a fast-finishing, much fitter The Fugazi who got the plumb run in transit on his back and wasn’t able to gun him down. When this horse finds form, he generally holds it and looks set for a really nice prep.
When To Bet
1400m race without numerous speed influences will shape very nicely for him, or even if there is an abundance of speed, drawn well where he can just camp off them. Racing pattern is his best friend.

Resortman
- Race: 5
- Distance: 1200m
- Class: 66+
Genuine display of sustained speed here 2nd up from Resortman. Had to do an unreal amount of early work to even find the breeze at the 700m from the wide gate with the amount of speed drawn underneath him, before kicking away in the straight to hold out the very fast finishing Platinum Bullet. They ran serious time, and think it is going to prove a very strong form race moving forward. A horse with much better races in-store for him.
When To Bet
Flexible anything 1200-1400m next start drawn a gate will only benefit his chances, progressive horse on an upward spiral
