FREE Greyhound Racing Selections – Healesville 2nd September 2021

A rare Thursday meeting at Healesville approaches with 12 winners to find across the morning & afternoon!

Race 1

Extremely shallow race to start the day. Purely on times #4 Wild One Mikado is an absolute standout bet. Unlucky on debut and ran a cracking 3rd in 16.92s on Sunday. Messy map as he is a slow beginner, and #3 Top Plain has showed signs to crash towards the outside fence. #7 Cracker was solid on debut, tired late. #5 Laquita Star must be respected on debut.

Numbers
  • 1st – #4 Wild One Mikado
  • 2nd – #7 Cracker
  • 3rd – #5 Laquita Star
No Bets.

Race 2

Weak maiden field. Runners with exposed form have shown very little signs of ability. Based on that, the unraced litter mates look the two standouts. #6 Devil’s Water maps slightly better than her sister #2 Pocket Ruby as #7 Mountain Stew has shown signs to push towards the outside fence. #8 Tony Tells Tales is the best of the exposed runners. Watch betting moves.

Numbers
  •  1st – #6 Devil’s Water
  • 2nd – #2 Pocket Ruby
  • 3rd – #8 Tony Tells Tales
No Bets.

Race 3

2 dog race here. #3 Gamblin’ Ways has exhibited traits that take a liking to straight track racing. He is strong running in a straight line and has good mid race speed. 1st time here but with a slow starter drawn inside him he should get every chance. #4 Major Cyclone handled the straight track and would have broken 20secs if not for a few bumps. In saying that, the average winning time for this distance and grade is 19.7s so he still has lengths to find. #8 Blazin Lola isn’t the worst.

Numbers
  • 1st – #3 Gamblin Ways’
  • 2nd – #4 Major Cyclone
  • 3rd – #8 Blazin Lola
#3 Gamblin Ways 1u Win @ $4.00

Race 4

The wings look to contest the finish in this race. #8 Blue Spot was excellent on Sunday where he had the short, priced favourite and smart dog, Apollo One on the ropes. His racing manners got the better of him on this occasion. He finally draws a wide box, should appreciate it as he has shown signs to favour the outside fence. Note: His 16.92s was a fast run on the day where the track played a few lengths slower. #1 Kraken Attila is boxed terribly in the red. Could cause many collisions on her way over. #6 All Fear misses the kick, good mid race burn, suits Healesville.

Numbers
  • 1st – #8 Blue Spot
  • 2nd – #1 Kraken Attila
  • 3rd – #6 All Fear
#8 Blue Spot 1u Win @ $2.00

Race 5

Small field, extremely deep formlines. #4 Zipping Higgins is resuming here and looks the dog on the up. Scored in BON 16.80s last time beating Slingshot Reaper as $2.40F. I make this point as you can tie that form in with #1 Noonbarra Jack who just fell short to SR 3 starts back. #6 Whistling Bullet inside box vacant, has a high cruising speed.

Numbers
  • 1st – #4 Zipping Higgins
  • 2nd – #6 Whistling Bullet
  • 3rd – #1 Noonbarra Jack
No Bets.

Race 6

Tough race with many of these mixing their form. #4 Structure has a quick 19.24s PB, back to his best 3 starts back running 19.4s. Dropped off again last start. #6 Nunniong Bear ran 2nd to Street Riot on Friday and must be respected. #3 Jachar ran 4th and looks a chance too.

Numbers
  • 1st – #4 Structure
  • 2nd – #6 Nunniong Bear
  • 3rd – #3 Jachar

No Bets.

Race 7

Difficult race with unknowns. #8 Far Out Frankie’s performance 2 back where he ran 16.75s BON would be hard to beat here if he could produce that over the 350m. He hasn’t proven that yet (Has had excuses) until he does, I can’t be putting money on him. #4 Gel Blaster was impressive on Healesville debut but hasn’t gone on with it. Drawn terribly, needs outside box. #7 Secret Package is past his best, can still be competitive here.

Numbers
  • 1st – #8 Far Out Frankie
  • 2nd – #4 Gel Blaster
  • 3rd – #7 Secret Package
No Bets.

Race 8

One to many dogs that are untried at this track to make it a lottery. #3 Kasemi strikes me as a dog that will enjoy the straight track and with an outside box vacant can muster through. #5 Chop Scotch ran a good 19.5s on a slow day and cost himself winning, inside box vacant, can run well. #8 Eagle Jet, track and trip specialist that must be included.

Numbers
  • 1st – #3 Kasemi
  • 2nd – #5 Chop Scotch
  • 3rd – #8 Eagle Jet
No Bets.

Race 9

Extremely weak race. #5 Dynamic Prince was excellent on debut and has been perfectly placed here against a moderate field in a 1-3 wins race. He showed traits of a good straight track dog on debut and with any luck can run 19.60/70 here which should have him winning. Toss up for the minors with #3 Man of Substance a chance & #2 Minter Explode

Numbers
  • 1st – #5 Dynamic Prince
  • 2nd – #3 Man of Substance
  • 3rd – #2 Minter Explode
No Bets.

Race 10

No standouts in this race. #4 Kraken Skye is a long way down in class and despite being beaten large margins of late still has faster times than most of the field. However, it’s hard to get entertained taking $1.60 and he’s priced accordingly. #2 Reiko Barty visually was impressive here when running a slow 17.32s, fixes box manners can surprise. #3 Don’t Know Jake coming off a win can run well again.

Numbers
  • 1st – #4 Kraken Skye
  • 2nd – #2 Reiko Barty
  • 3rd – #3 Don’t Know Jake
No Bets.

Race 11

Looks a great race for an untried dog down the straight to strike! #8 Loves The Surf has shown no indications that he won’t love the straight track as he has blistering straight speed and often picks of runners very comfortable in the home straight. He comprehensively beat home Oliver Bale who beat home #3 Fab Six by 4L last run. Based on circle form and times you could easily give the pink 5 length difference to the white and if he handles the straight, he looks extremely hard to beat in a shallow race.

Numbers
  • 1st – #8 Loves The Surf
  • 2nd – #3 Fab Six
  • 3rd – #7 Billy Tirch
#8 Loves The Surf 1u Win @ $1.85

Race 12

Tough race to end the day. #1 Making Gravy is back to Healesville here after a NSW prep. Would prefer a wide box and not sure if he’s ready to go after 5 month let up. #4 Aston Galahad was in the market 1st attempt here and was unlucky but still didn’t show me enough to be taking $2.30. On top but not a betting prospect. #7 Meehan Marlow can run well at odds from out wide.

Numbers
  • 1st – #4 Aston Galahad
  • 2nd – 1 Making Gravy
  • 3rd – #1 Meehan Marlow
No Bets.

Today’s Bets

  • Race 3 #3 Gamblin Ways 1 Unit Win @ $4.00
  • Race 4 #8 Blue Spot 1 Unit Win @ $2.00
  • Race 11 #8 Loves The Surf 1 Unit Win @ $1.85
