Randwick Race 2 – Russian Conquest

This is the perfect scenario I hoped for when black booking Russian Conquest after her gallant 2nd to Coolangatta in the Magic Millions where the gap to to third horse was huge. She basically gets a maiden field of fillies that contains a few hype 2yos that are yet to do it. Russian Conquest has, with back to back victories in the summer before that Magic Millions run.

Randwick Race 7 – Forbidden Love

After cashing in on her win in the Guy Walter at $7’s last week I was happy to steer clear of Forbidden Love back against the boys in a G1 this week. However, as the week has gone on things continue to fall in her favour and there is just too much going for her to ignore. I love the fact the Freedman’s are backing up here in this now weakened G1 when the obvious option would’ve been taking on a big field in the Coolmore a week later where luck is always key.

She gets her beloved heavy surface where I believe the  fitness edge she holds on her rivals will be key. She maps to get an easy lead with Kolding a chance to show some speed from the inside with Victorian hope Lighthouse the only other horse that has gone close to pressing forward in previous runs. Zaaki coming out really weakens this field and gives Forbidden Love an opportunity to win her 2nd G1 and first against the boys.

Randwick Race 8 – Anamoe

The G1 Randwick Guineas is grand final day for Anamoe. The star Godolphin colt will go on to contest more feature races throughout the autumn but as far as stallion making races go, this is the one. He arrives in peak fitness 3rd-up after presenting sweaty and with plenty of improvement to come when flashing home for 3rd 1st-up at Rosehill before holding out Hilal for victory 2nd-up on the same track.

He is 2 wins from 2 starts at Randwick and races well on wet and dry surfaces. The bet of the day.
