Race 2 – 1:44PM QUAYCLEAN MAIDEN (1000 METRES)

11. Just So Sassy – 5. Too Dardy – 1. Dragonflies – 8. Supportive

Too Dardy was terrific on debut over 1200m when just edged out late by La Dette in a maiden run 4.5L faster than class average. He was very tough how strong he fought on after punching the breeze throughout, just a slight query for me on where he maps here from an awkward alley and the drop back in trip to the 1000m, but if Brandon Louis can jam him in or cross them, he’s a great winning chance.

Just So Sassy hasn’t yet put it all together on the race track in 3 career starts but her most recent 400m jumpout was one of the fastest display of speeds seen at the trials in many years. Looks to have come back a much better 3yo, can kick through to lead them here from barrier 4 and over the short course, she could prove very hard to run down. View TOPSPORT Racing Markets Here! Race 3 – 2:19PM SEACORP HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

3. Wednesday – 2. Regal Access – 1. Ruuca – 5. Prince Amongst Men

Wednesday

Wednesday has been a while between drinks but thought her last start effort in a Saturday 66+ was terrific. Savaged the line late into 3rd in the best L200m split of the entire meeting beaten only 1.5L Metallon, who looks to be a very talented, progressive sprinter. Drops back into a CL3 and back to Belmont where she does her best racing, lobs 3 back the fence with a cutaway on offer in the straight. This is her best chance in a while to break through again, keen on her.

2 Units WIN

Regal Access is still very much untapped. Only a maiden and a CL1 winner, but was able to put them away the last time we saw him with authority from barrier 12 carrying 60kgs with the 2nd and 3rd horses both since performing well in 3yo company, franking the strength of the win. Hasn’t had a trial leading in but can lead them here from the inside draw and be in front for a long way for the Pontiff. Very talented and raw.

Ruuca has a horror draw to contend with but performed admirably in a Saturday 72+ 1st up when beaten 4.7L Halatorion. This is a sharp step back in grade and trialled up super prior to that 1st up effort, should have taken plenty of benefit out of that.

Race 4 – 2:54PM AMELIA PARK HANDICAP (2100 METRES)

8. Masaru – 1. Luke’s Pierro – 3. Comealilbitcloser – 5. Sanaa

Masaru

Masaru was unlucky not to pick up Django Dream late last start when really diving through late to just miss. Very consistent type who is showing she can sit a pair or two closer this prep than we have become accustomed to. Drawn beautifully here, if she can utilise the barrier and settle in the first 7-8 in running, she’s going to be hard to hold out late.

1 Unit WIN

Luke’s Pierro comes through the same race and despite not being suited whatsoever by how the track was playing on the day, was still backed as if he was unbeatable into $2.25. Was never a hope from where he settled and without a cart into the race. Gets a 3kg swing on Masaru after Gaerth’s claim here and while he is likely to get a long way back again, with some luck and a tow into the race he can certainly bounce back, his two efforts prior to last start were super.

Comealilbitcloser is a perennial bridesmaid but comes through a very strongly run Saturday staying contest which was taken out by a horse at triple figure odds with the tempo they set leaving the vast majority of them out on their feet late. He whacked away well there, just lacks a killer blow. View TOPSPORT Racing Markets Here! View Our NEW Form Guide Here

Race 5 -3:34PM TABTOUCH – HAVE YOU GOT THE TOUCH HANDICAP (1650 METRES)

2. Eee Pee Cee – 1. Solid Gold – 6. Singleton Park – 8. Divine Quest

Eee Pee Cee

Eee Pee Cee was terrific last start when punching the breeze throughout behind Megami. Stepped up from a maiden win to a 0MW and more than held his own in a strong race run almost 4L faster than average. Kicks through from barrier 1 here to hold a position and with that soft run should prove very hard to beat back into a CL3. Like him.

2.5 Units WIN

Solid Gold takes a little while to wind up but looks like he can lob in a lovely spot here and keep Eee Pee Cee within his sights. Was only just getting wound up over the last 100m at Pinjarra last start over 1500m so the step up to the 1650m should very much suit, going well.
Singleton Park has raced predominately in Saturday company since crossing West to Bruce Kay and has more than held his own. Drops back to a midweek CL3 and the Blinkers go on, wouldn’t surprise to see him run a very good race.

Divine Quest comes through a winner producing race and never really got a crack at them in the straight. Will get a long way back again here from the gate but has come back in really good knick and if they are running on, will be hitting the line hardest late. View TOPSPORT Racing Markets Here! Race 6 – 4:15PM COOL RIDGE HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

3. Trevello – 6. Aiyza – 2. Snippy Miss – 8. Sneaky Fox

Trevello looks the one with Pike taking the ride here. 3 back put on a galloping exhibition in an Albany 58+ before more than holding his own beaten under 4L into 4th in the Mungrup Sprint at Mt Barker behind Cheval De Vaga, River Rubicon (won again since) and Kohli. Stepped up to 1500m last start, got a mile off them and just didn’t see it out. Back to 1400m here, Pike jumps aboard from a soft draw with a cutaway on offer to him, he can bounce back.

Aiyza just didn’t see out the mile last start in a Saturday 60+. Back to 1400m here a huge tick and all the 3yo form around her from starts prior is super for a race of this nature. If Holly can get her across into a prominent position without doing too much work, she is going to be very hard to beat.

Race 7 – 4:52PM DRUMMOND GOLF HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

9. Vonsnip – 5. Red Orca – 6. Digital Miss – 12. Fortune’s Luck

Race 8 – 5:32PM DEVIL’S LAIR HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

8. Deetea – 2. Starring Knight – 10. La Dette – 7. Awesome Rival

Deetea

Deetea has been really hitting the line strongly in much better company than this at her past few starts. Looks ready for the rise to 1300m now, drops sharply back in grade from 3yo grade to a CL1 and gets William Pike in the saddle who has rode the winner of the final race on the program at the last 5 meetings he has ridden at, can he go 6/6? In some remarkable form and is quite simply, putting on a clinic.

1.7 Units WIN

Starring Knight

Starring Knight was a trial under heavyweight hoop Alan Kennedy I instantly black-booked recently. Very stylish hit-out and the 2nd horse from the trial Stellar Vista came out on Sunday and almost beat one of the form sprinters of the state Halatorion 1st up. Still very lightly raced, drawn for a soft run and interesting what the market does with him. May be a run too early but don’t want to let him go around without any of mine.

0.8 Units WIN

La Dette was a nice win to break her maiden and posted a strong figure too. Will get a good line through that form with Too Dardy earlier in the card and Sizzle Me Patrick since bolting in on Monday who was back there in 3rd. Maps a treat, can go on with it now.

Awesome Rival put in a blinder 1st up but has always been a real tease. Potentially sticky little draw for Chris Parnham to navigate, particularly if she is slow to leave the machines again.
