On a really light-on day, we’ll make Go Forward the best. Complete forgive 1st up when returning with an elevated heart rate and as a result wanted to lay in and not respond to riding by Brad Parnham. The trial prior to that run I thought was super. Absolutely blitzed a 60+ field 2nd up last prep, barrier 1 can follow the leaders cuddled away, know if he is right and ready he has the finish to be getting over these if he finds the gaps when he needs them.

Searchin Roc’s

Have had huge wraps on this filly for a while now and was really disappointed when she started having issues with the gates and was put out for a little while to try and work her out. After some genius work by Harro and Fenella Martin, she seems to have put those issues behind her for the time being and her last start effort was one that signalled she is going to be more than competitive at this level. Had to do the work early to pull across to the breeze, looked shot at the top of the straight but once she balanced up she really fought hard through the line, particularly loved the last 50m which bodes well for the step up to the 1400m. Given the 5kg swing in her favour on Rokanori, I thought it was the superior run. Ideal scenario, think Kyra can boot her out here and almost land 1-1, but if there is a lack of positivity from others, she could almost lead them up here which is far from a bad thing the way the track has been playing. Think she’s as genuine a racehorse as they come, just needs to keep all her quirks in check.

Devoted

Gut feel tells me Devoted is Bob’s next good one, he just has that feel about him. Loved the win fresh when he was a #frankworrall, put figures on the board in doing so, and should only relish getting out to the 1400m. He did get a world perfect run first up, this map is far stickier, and this is much harder and for a horse likely to get back in the field, the way the track is playing it could be very difficult to make the required ground up late spotting some very smart ones a tactical map advantage. If the track tomorrow bucks the trend and is playing fairly, I would want to be on, I think these two are a couple of potential stars. No disrespect to Rokanori, I think he could be anything as well, but the considerable weight swing is enough for me to lean in the favour of the 2 horses mentioned.
