Free agency is continuing in the National Basketball Association. Here are four players who are switching teams.
Deandre Ayton
The Los Angeles Lakers have finally found their big man to accommodate LeBron James and Luka Doncic. On Wednesday according to Dan Wolke and David Aldridge of The Athletic, the Lakers signed 7’0″, 250 pound center Deandre Ayton of Nassau, Bahamas to a two-year contract worth $16.6 million. The Lakers are Ayton’s third NBA franchise. He previously played five seasons with the Phoenix Suns and the last two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. In 2024-25, Ayton averaged 14.4 points per game, 10.2 rebounds per game, and 1.6 assists per game. He had a field goal percentage of .566, three point percentage of .188 and free throw percentage of .667.
Spencer Dinwiddie
The guard from Los Angeles, California signed a one-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets worth $3.6 million on Wednesday according to Sportac. He is joining his sixth NBA team after two seasons with the Detroit Pistons, seven seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, three seasons with the Dallas Mavericks, and one season each with the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers. This past season with the Mavericks, Dinwiddie averaged 11 points per game, 4.4 assists per game, and 2.6 rebounds per game. He had a field goal percentage of .416, three point percentage of .334, and a free throw percentage of .802.
Duncan Robinson
The small forward from York, Maine signed a three-year contract worth $48 million with the Detroit Pistons according to Rogers Sportsnet on Tuesday. Robinson averaged 11 points per game, 2.4 assists per game and 2.3 rebounds per game in his seventh season with the Miami Heat. He had a field goal percentage of .437, three point percentage of .393, and a free throw percentage of .887.
Guerschon Yabusele
The center from Dreux, France signed a two-year contract worth $12 million with the New York Knicks on Tuesday according to nba.com. Yabusele has played two seasons with the Boston Celtics, and last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. In 2024-25, Yabusele averaged 11 points per game, 5.6 rebounds per game, and 2.1 assists per game. He had a field goal percentage of .501, three point percentage of .380, and a free throw percentage of .725.
