Former NFL wide receiver Reche Caldwell allegedly murdered in Tampa

According to The Score on Saturday, former National Football League wide receiver Reche Caldwell of Tampa, Florida was allegedly shot and killed at the age of 41. Caldwell played six NFL seasons with the San Diego Chargers, New England Patriots and Washington Redskins from 2002 to 2007.
Caldwell had 152 career catches for 1851 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 14 rushes for 108 yards.
Caldwell’s finest NFL regular season came in 2006 with the Patriots. Throughout the year, Caldwell was able to find chemistry with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Caldwell caught 61 passes for 760 yards and four touchdowns. He had career highs in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. In fact, Caldwell also led the Patriots in receptions and receiving yards that season and was tied for the Patriots lead in touchdown catches with four. Caldwell was tied with Troy Brown of Barnwell, South Carolina.
Caldwell’s finest game during the 2006 NFL season came in the Patriots’ final regular season game in a 40-23 Patriots win over the Tennessee Titans. Caldwell had four catches for a career-high 134 yards and one touchdown.
In the 2007 NFL postseason, Caldwell had a solid NFL playoff. He had 16 catches for 176 yards and one touchdown in three games for the Patriots. New England reached the 2007 AFC Championship Game before losing 38-34 to the Indianapolis Colts.
Caldwell was initially drafted in the second round, 48th overall, by the Chargers in the 2002 NFL Draft. In four seasons with San Diego from 2002 to 2005, Caldwell had 76 catches for 950 yards, and seven touchdowns.
Reche Caldwell was also the older brother of former NFL wide receiver Andre Caldwell. In eight NFL seasons, Andre Caldwell played with the Cincinnati Bengals and Denver Broncos from 2008 to 2015.
