Flemington Tip Sheet & Staking Plan: Saturday 12th September

Victorian metropolitan racing returns to Headquarters this Saturday where the Group 1 Makybe Diva stakes is the feature race on an action packed 9 race program at Flemington.

The track is currently rated a Good 4. Melbourne has seen beautiful weather all week however, there’s terrible weather on the radar with up to 20mm of rain expected to drop just on Raceday alone. We could see the track downgrade multiple times, possibly into the heavy range. The rail has been relocated into the true for this meeting.

With the rail in this position and the rain expected to hit I’m expecting the inside few lanes and jockeys elect to come off the rails upon straightening. Always a difficult task in predicting where they’ll go in the straight races however, I’m expecting them to come towards the outside rail.
