Five NBA players with most points in a season
September 30, 2021

One might have thought that Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors had a sensational statistical 2020-21 NBA season last year as he had 2015 total points. Yes, Curry did not play a full season (only 63 games), and the NBA only had a 72 game season because of coronavirus, but Curry’s 2015 points would still not even rank Curry among the top 250 on the list of players who scored the most points in a single season. Here is a list of the top five players who have had the most points in a one year.
5) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar–The player with the ninth most points in a single season, Abdul-Jabbar had 2822 points with the Milwaukee Bucks in the 1971-72 season. Abdul-Jabbar’s best game that year came on December 10, 1971, as he had 55 points for the Bucks in a 120-104 win over the Boston Celtics.
4) Bob McAdoo–In 1974-75, McAdoo had 2831 points with the Buffalo Braves. That year he also led the NBA with 1155 rebounds. McAdoo’s best game came on March 18, 1975, when he had 51 points in a 122-115 Buffalo loss to the Houston Rockets.
3) Kobe Bryant–This NBA legend who passed away in 2020, had 2832 points in 2005-06 with the Lakers. Bryant, who had the seventh most points in a single season all-time, had his best game that season on January 22, 2o06 when he scored 81 points in a 122-104 Lakers win over the Toronto Raptors.
