First round of the upcoming 2024 NRL season revealed

The opening week (or should we say weeks) of the NRL has begun to take shape at competition HQ with the Round One fixtures all but locked in.
The Sydney Morning Herald has got its hands on the first round of the 2024 NRL Season, including the two matches to be hosted in Las Vegas as the “round zero” matchups.

There are some very interesting clashes right off the bat, including the three-time champions the Penrith Panthers travelling to face perennial heavyweights the Melbourne Storm in Friday’s primetime slot. They will be joined on the same day by the New Zealand Warriors and Cronulla Sharks in round one.
The Newcastle Knights will open their campaign with a rare Thursday evening game, hosting the Canberra Raiders in the Hunter in the first Australian-based match of the season.
The Parramatta Eels, Canterbury Bulldogs, Gold Coast Titans, and St George Illawarra Dragons are all slotted in to play on Saturday, while the Redcliffe Dolphins and North Queensland Cowboys will contest the first Queensland derby of the year.

Over in Las Vegas, the Rabbitohs will play the Sea Eagles on Saturday, March 2, before last season’s runners-up the Broncos will take on the Roosters in the second United States-based game.

- Rabbitohs vs. Sea Eagles — Saturday, March 2 (in Las Vegas)
- Broncos vs. Roosters — Saturday, March 2 (in Las Vegas)
- Knights vs. Raiders — Thursday, March 7
- Warriors vs. Sharks — Friday, March 8
- Storm vs. Panthers — Friday, March 8
- Eels vs. Bulldogs — Saturday, March 9
- Titans vs. Dragons — Saturday, March 9
- Dolphins vs. Cowboys — Sunday, March 10
- Wests Tigers bye
The Indigenous and Maori All Stars fixture will be two weeks earlier, on February 16.
