Top 10
The driver we have nicknamed Mr Reliable is Seb Vettel and he was exactly that in Azerbaijan as he delivered on our top 10 bet @ $2.
He will be high on confidence after a second placing there and this track should suit him.
- 250 units Vettel to finish top 10 @ $2.10 –Â (potential profit =Â $275)
Market outlay = 250 units ($250)
Fastest Lap
It’s unusual to see 3 drivers under $4 for the fastest lap but the qualifying time sheet shows there isn’t much between every driver in the top 10 which means it’s unlikely that someone will have the luxury of stopping late in the race to put some new soft boots on and have a crack at the fastest lap.
We’re happy to spread some units across a couple of drivers here in an attempt to make a small profit.
- 250 units Verstappen @ $2.87 – (potential profit = $367.5)
- 100 units Perez @ $7.50 – (potential profit = $450)
*Profit worked out on both bets combined
Market outlay = 350 units ($350)
Race Winner
Verstappen will be looking for a win to not only extend his lead in the championship but also make up for a victory that was ripped away from him in Azerbaijan.
If qualifying is anything to go by then he could just race away with an easy win here.
- 500 units Verstappen @ $1.91 – (potential profit = $455)
Market outlay = 500 units ($500)
Winning Margin
Verstappen qualified 0.258 seconds faster than Hamilton which means if you were to multiply that by the 53 laps it takes to finish the French GP you’d have Verstappen finishing 13.6 seconds in front of Hamilton but we have to consider that Hamilton should be able to stay with DRS range for about 5-10 laps which will keep Verstappen in his sight for a while longer.
When we also look at the practice times it looks that on the long run testing the Red Bull was only 0.100 seconds quicker than the Mercedes which makes us think the 4-8 second winning margin should be a good bet.
- 100 units Between 4 & 8 Seconds Inclusive @ $3.50 – (potential profit = $250)
Market outlay = 100 units ($100)
