Eight NFL players traded at the 2023 trade deadline

The National Football League trade deadline day took place on Tuesday. Let’s see the eight players who were moved on Halloween.

1) Ezra Cleveland

The 25-year-old guard from Spanaway, Washington was traded from Minnesota to Jacksonville for a sixth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He has played the last four seasons for the Vikings.

2) Josh Dobbs

The 28-year-old quarterback from Alpharetta, Georgia was traded from Arizona to Minnesota with a conditional seventh round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft for a sixth round pick in 2024. It appears the Cardinals are getting quarterback Kyler Murray of Bedford, Texas soon. Murray tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in December of last season, and is expected to make a return. The Vikings were in need of a new quarterback because Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles on Sunday against Green Bay. The Vikings are the fourth NFL team Dobbs has played for. He was previously with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018 and 2020, the Tennessee Titans in 2022, and the Cardinals this season. In eight games quarterbacking Arizona, Dobbs only had a record of one win and seven losses, but completed 167 passes in 266 attempts for 1569 passing yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions. He had 47 rushes for 258 rushing yards and three touchdowns, but led the NFL with eight fumbles.

3) Rasul Douglas

The 29-year-old cornerback from East Orange, New Jersey was traded to the Buffalo Bills from the Green Bay Packers with a fifth round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft for a third round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Bills are Douglas’s fourth NFL team following three seasons in Philadelphia (2017 to 2019), one season in Carolina (2020), and three seasons in Green Bay (2021 to 2023). In seven games this season for the Packers, Douglas had 32 combined tackles (26 solo tackles and six assisted tackles), two tackles for a loss, one interception for -2 yards, six pass deflections and one fumble recovery. The fumble recovery came in the Packers’s 38-20 win over the Chicago Bears on September 10. Douglas led the NFL with two pick sixes in 2021.

4) Donovan Peoples-Jones

The 24-year-old wide receiver from Detroit, Michigan was traded from the Cleveland Browns to the Detroit Lions for a sixth round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Lions were in need of a receiver after Marvin Jones was released for family reasons. In seven games this season, Peoples-Jones had eight catches for 97 receiving yards.

5) Kentavious Street

The 27-year-old defensive tackle from Greenville, North Carolina was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Atlanta Falcons for a conditional sixth round draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In eight games this season, Street had four combined tackles (two solo tackles and two assisted tackles). The assisted tackles came in Eagles wins. The first was in a 34-31 Eagles win over the Washington Commanders on October 1, and the second came in a 38-31 Eagles win over the Commanders on October 29. The Falcons are the fourth team Street has played for following three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers (2019 to 2021), one season with the New Orleans Saints (2022), and one season with the Eagles (2023).

6) Montez Sweat

The 27-year-old defensive end from Richmond, Kentucky was traded from the Washington Commanders to the Chicago Bears for a second round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. This season, Sweat had 32 combined tackles (21 solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles), 11 quarterback hits, 10 tackles for a loss, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass deflection. The two forced fumbles came in a 20-16 Commanders win over the Arizona Cardinals on September 10.

7) Leonard Williams

The 29-year-old defensive tackle from Bakersfield, California was traded from the New York Giants to the Seattle Seahawks for a second round pick in 2024 and a fifth round pick in 2025. Williams previously played with the New York Jets from 2015 to 2019, and the New York Giants from 2020 to 2023. In eight games this season, Williams had 21 combined tackles (13 solo tackles and eight assisted tackles), one tackle for a loss, five quarterback hits, 1.5 sacks and one pass deflection. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2016.

8) Chase Young

The 24-year-old defensive lineman from Upper Marlboro, Maryland was traded from the Washington Commanders to the San Francisco 49ers for a conditional third round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. In 2020, Young was selected to the Pro Bowl and was the Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year. This season, he had 15 combined tackles (12 solo tackles and three assisted tackles), nine quarterback hits, six tackles for a loss, five sacks and one pass deflection.
