Dolphins sign wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The Miami Dolphins have signed wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana to a one-year deal worth $8.25 million according to the Associated Press. The Dolphins are the fifth National Football League team Beckham Jr. has played for. He was previously with the New York Giants from 2014 to 2018, the Cleveland Browns from 2019 to 2021, the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, and the Baltimore Ravens in 2023. 

In 2023, Beckham Jr. had 35 catches for 565 receiving yards and three touchdowns in Baltimore. He had four catches for 116 receiving yards in a 34-20 Ravens win over the Cincinnati Bengals on November 16, and four catches for 97 receiving yards and one touchdown in a 37-31 Ravens win over the Rams on December 10.

Beckham Jr. is best known for his three outstanding seasons to begin his NFL career with the New York Giants where he was selected to the Pro Bowl each season. In 2014, Beckham Jr. he was also named the Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year, and led the NFL in receiving yards per game with 108.8. He also had 91 catches for 1305 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2015, Beckham Jr. had 96 catches for 1450 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, and in 2016, had 101 catches for 1367 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, and led the NFL with 13.5 scrimmage yards per touch.

Beckham Jr. holds the Giants franchise records for most receiving yards in a season by a rookie (1305), most receptions in a season by a rookie wide receiver (91), most receptions in a game by a rookie wide receiver (12 in a 24-13 Giants win over Washington on December 14, 2014 and in a 34-26 Giants loss to Philadelphia on December 28, 2014), and most receiving touchdowns in a game by a Giants rookie wide receiver (three in the Giants win over Washington on December 14, 2014).

While with the Rams, Beckham Jr. won a Super Bowl. He had two catches for 52 yards and one touchdown as the Rams beat the Bengals 23-20, but in the game tore his anterior cruciate ligament.
