The Los Angeles Dodgers have beaten the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 in game six of the 2025 World Series. With the win, the best out of seven series is tied at three games apiece. What this also means is whoever wins game seven on Saturday night in the Ontario provincial capital city will win the best team prize possible in Major League Baseball.
The Dodgers were victorious in game six thanks to a quality start from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. It may not have been a complete game like his last two postseason appearances, but Yamamoto was still electrifying. He threw 96 pitches, of which 63 were strikes. Of the 23 batters he faced, Yamamoto gave up one earned earned run, one walk, and five hits to go along with six strikeouts.
Los Angeles’s bullpen was also very effective. Justin Wrobleski of Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Roki Sasaki of Iwate, Japan both picked up holds, while Tyler Glasnow of Newhall, California, who is normally a starter, had the save. For Glasnow, this was the first save of his Major League Baseball career (regular season or playoffs), Â and 41st MLB relief appearance. Glasnow actually had 34 relief appearances with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2018.
Offensively, the Dodgers scored all three of their runs in the top of the third inning. The Dodgers had three base hits (two doubles and one single) and two walks off of Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman.
The Saturday night starting pitching matchup is a battle of two future Hall of Famers. Toronto is going with Max Scherzer, and the Dodgers will counter with Shohei Ohtani.
