Australian Olympic history was made on Monday as Andrew Hoy became the oldest Australian Olympic medalist ever at age 62 (silver in individual eventing). The oldest Olympic medalist all-time is 72-year-old Oscar Swahn of Sweden, who won the silver medal in the double-shot running deer event at the 1920 Olympic Games in Antwerp. Sailing–Mixed Nacra 17 race @ 4:33 pm AEST
In the only mixed sailing event at the Olympic Games, Australia’s Lisa Darmanin and Jason Waterhouse will look to medal for the second straight Olympic Games after winning silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. They also won the bronze medal at the 2020 World Sailing Championships in Geelong.
Track Cycling– Women’s Team Pursuit medal matches @ 6:19 PM AEST and Men’s Team Sprint medal matches @ 6:41 PM AEST
Exciting action from the Izu Velodrome takes place on Tuesday with legitimate medal opportunities for Australia in team cycling. The Australian women won gold in the women’s team pursuit at the 2019 Track Cycling World Championships in Pruszkow, Poland, while the Australian men won the 2012 Track Cycling World Championships in Melbourne.
Men’s Field Hockey semifinals — Australia vs. Germany 8PM AEST
In the second of two semifinals in men’s field hockey, Australia will be facing Germany. Australia went through the group stage with a record of four wins and one draw, and then beat the Netherlands 3-0 in a penalty shootout, after tying the Dutch at two goals apiece. India and Belgium will play in the other semifinal. On Monday in the women’s field hockey quarterfinals, India beat Australia 1-0.
