The Dallas Cowboys were expected to find a trade partner with the disgruntled Micah Parsons. Â On Thursday, they found one. The Cowboys traded linebacker Micah Parsons of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the Green Bay Packers. In return, the Cowboys received first round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts and defensive tackle Kenny Clark of San Bernadino, California. According to the Associated Press, the Packers came to terms on a massive contract with Parsons. He is receiving $188 million over the next four years, of which $136 million is guaranteed.
Parsons was selected to the Pro Bowl the last four years and was the 2021 Associated Press Defensive Rookie of the Year. Last season he missed a month with a high ankle sprain. In 13 games during 2024, he had 43 combined tackles (30 solo tackles and 13 assisted tackles), 23 quarterback hits, 12 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and one pass deflection. The pass deflection came in a 33-17 Cowboys win over the Cleveland Browns on September 8.
Clark has spent the last nine seasons with the Green Bay Packers. He was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2019, 2021, and 2023. In 2024, Clark had 37 combined tackles (20 solo tackles and 17 assisted tackles), four tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, two pass deflections, two fumble recoveries and one sack. The two fumble recoveries came in Packers wins. The first came in a 34-13 Packers win over the Arizona Cardinals on October 13, and the second came in a 38-10 Packers win over the San Francisco 49ers on November 24. The sack came in a 30-17 Packers win over the Miami Dolphins on November 28.
Meanwhile, there was another NFL trade on Wednesday. According to Kevin Patra of nfl.com, the Detroit Lions have traded wide receiver Tim Patrick of San Diego, California to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a sixth round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
