Country Championships Southern Districts Qualifier – Sat 19th Of Feb

The Newhaven Park Country Championships consists of a series of seven races (plus 1 “Wild Card” Race) each held at a club representing one racing region in NSW.
The first and second horse in each regional race will qualify for the $500,000 Newhaven Park Country Championships final to be held at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Day 1 of The Championships, Saturday 2 April 2022.

Have landed on this Stubbs trained 4yo Gelding ahead of the Colvin trained Another One. Tap n Run resumed nicely from a spell recording some exceptional late splits over the unsuitable 1000m first-up. He then enjoyed the 1400m last start winning as odds on favourite here. This is tougher but he enjoys a nice weight relief, extra fitness and the soft draw.
Have left Another One as 2nd pick. Would have liked to see him third-up or without the blinkers. Tough draw too with a big weight pick-up.
