Country Championships Mid North Coast Qualifier – Sunday 20th Of Feb

The Newhaven Park Country Championships consists of a series of seven races (plus 1 “Wild Card” Race) each held at a club representing one racing region in NSW.
The first and second horse in each regional race will qualify for the $500,000 Newhaven Park Country Championships final to be held at Royal Randwick in Sydney on Day 1 of The Championships, Saturday 2 April 2022.

Have sided with the Burges trained Markwell Dreamer here. The blinkers were applied this prep resulting in some sharp improvement. He won the Highway impressively first-up over 1100m in good time. He hit the line well Second-up in the highway over 1200m, finishing 6th 2L, after being held up in the straight. Third-up here out to the 1400m should suit. Barrier 1 a bonus, should settle close without doing much work.
