Champion Race Mare Ready to Re-Write Record Books

Australia’s greatest ever mare steps out for the 2nd time this preparation after eclipsing Black Caviar’s Australian record of of 26 straight victories last start.

She has not set a foot wrong in her training since winning the G1 race named in her honour last start.

Trainer Chris Waller could not be happier with her heading into the Optic White Stakes at Randwick over 1600m, a distance which will suit her more. A scary thought for her opposition.

Speaking after her final gallop on Thursday heading into Saturday’s race Waller was all praise.

“Everything is good. Just what we call a maintenance gallop this morning. She worked over 1000m just going through her paces gently and at the finishing post just getting up to her top speed. Making sure everything is in order”.

“Everything feels good to the rider Hugh Bowman. He said she’s perfect!”

“We’re looking forward to Saturday’s race at Randwick” said Waller.

Winx’s main goal this preparation is a 4th consecutive Cox Plate, which is Australia’s pinnacle middle distance race. She aims to become the first ever horse to win 4 Cox Plates.

Winx is $1.10 with bookmakers. For a bit of value we are suggesting Winx/It’s Somewhat exacta at $6.5
