Celtics enjoying unbelievable success on the road
February 17, 2022

The Boston Celtics have accomplished something this month that no team has ever done before. According to ESPN on Tuesday, the Celtics became the first team in NBA history to win three straight road games by 30 points or more.
On February 6, the Celtics beat the Orlando Magic 116-83. On February 8, the Celtics beat the Brooklyn Nets 126-91. Then on Tuesday, the Celtics clobbered the  Philadelphia 76ers 135-87. With the wins, the Celtics improved to 34 wins and 25 losses, and comfortably in a playoff spot.
In the trio of wins, Jaylen Brown led the Celtics in scoring in each contest. He scored 26 points in the win over the Magic, 22 points in the win over the Nets, and 29 points against the 76ers.

It will also be interesting to see the long term impact that the two deals Boston made at the trade deadline will be. Last week, Boston acquired depth players Derrick White from the San Antonio Spurs and Daniel Theis from the Houston Rockets.Â
It seems at the moment the Celtics would prefer to play most of their games on the road right now. That is because on Wednesday, the Celtics were upset 112-111 at the Toronto Dominion Garden in Boston by the Detroit Pistons, the second worst team in the East. At 13 wins and 45 losses, the only team worse than the Pistons in the East are the Orlando Magic at 13 wins and 47 losses. The Detroit win over Boston also snapped the Celtics’ nine-game winning streak. Prior to Wednesday, they had not lost since January, when they were beaten 108-92 to the Atlanta Hawks.
