Caulfield Guineas Final Field & Barriers

A full field of 16 is set to contest the G1 Caulfield Guineas on Saturday headlined by Anamoe and Artorius who are set to clash for a fourth time this year.

It’s not good news for Anamoe backers though with the Godolphin colt drawing 15. The news is much better for the Blue Diamond winner though with Artorius drawn in barrier 2.

Another colt to have drawn well is Tiger Of Malay who will jump from the inside gate and with his early gate speed could land in the first couple.

Chris Waller will be represented well with both Giannis and Coastwatch set to take their place. Giannis who is coming off a Winter preparation contesting the JJ Atkins has drawn nicely in 6 whilst the Golden Rose placegetter Coastwatch has drawn slightly sticky in 12.

An interesting runner is the Matthew Brown trained Prix De Turn who has snuck into the field after just the one start. It would be a fairytale if Prix De Turn and Brian Higgins could combine to take out the top guns with his task becoming all the more difficult drawing 16.

Meanwhile connections of Hitotsu drew beautifully but have failed to gain a start in the final field and have been left as the first emergency. The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace trained galloper was scratched from the Super Impose last week with the hope of gaining a start in the Caulfield Guineas.
