The Minnesota Timberwolves are trying to solidify a top six spot in the Western Conference at the moment. They are currently at 32 wins and 20 losses and lead the Phoenix Suns by a game in an attempt to avoid the silly play-in tournament.
On Thursday, in the final day of the NBA Trade Deadline, the Timberwolves made an intriguing deal with the Chicago Bulls. The principal player in the transaction is shooting guard Ayo Dosunmu of Chicago, Illinois. Dosunmu goes from Chicago to Minnesota. In addition to Dosunmu, small forward Julian Phillips of Killeen. Texas is Minnesota bound. Meanwhile, the Bulls acquired point guard Rob Dillingham of Hickory, North Carolina, Canadian small forward Leonard Miller of Scarborough, Ontario, and four second round picks from the Bulls.
This season, Dosunmu is having a career year. He is averaging a personal best 15 points per game. He is also recording three rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, and has a field goal percentage of .514, three point percentage of .451, and free throw percentage of 857.
Used primarily in a reserve role, Dosunmu only has 10 starts in 45 games. On January 31, Dosunmu had a season-high 29 points in a 125-118 Bulls win over the Miami Heat.
