The third round is now over for the fourth of five majors of the year in women’s golf. The leader after round two of the Evian Championship in France, Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario, leads after round three.

On Saturday, Henderson may not have been as strong in round three (-3), as she was in round one and two (posted scores of -7 in each round), but it was good enough to be on top of the leaderboard at -17. Henderson had four birdies and one bogey. She birdied the third, seventh, ninth and 14th holes, and bogeyed the first hole.

The one player Henderson needs to watch out for is So Yeon Ryu of South Korea. Ryu shot a round of six-under-par 65 on Saturday and is two strokes back of Henderson at -15. Ryu  had eight birdies and two bogeys. She birdied the first, second, eighth, ninth, 11th, 15th, 17th and 18th holes. The bogeys came at the fifth and 10th holes.

Both Henderson and Ryu are major champions from the past. Henderson won the 2016 Women’s PGA Championship just outside of Seattle, Washington in a playoff over Lydia Ko of New Zealand. Ryu won the 2011 United States Women’s Open at the Broadmoor East Course in Colorado Springs, Colorado and the 2017 ANA Inspiration in Rancho Mirage, California.

Momentum heading into Sunday seems to be on Ryu’s side. She was electric down the stretch on Saturday in round three, collecting three birdies in the last four holes. Henderson meanwhile missed a short birdie putt on the 18th hole on Saturday.
