Who are the greatest Brisbane Broncos players of all time? From Darren Lockyer, Allan Langer and Shane Webcke to Reece Walsh and Payne Haas, The Sporting Base ranks the top 25 Brisbane Broncos players since the club’s first season in 1988.
Brisbane has won seven premierships — 1992, 1993, the 1997 Super League title, 1998, 2000, 2006 and 2025 — according to the NRL honour roll. The most recent came on 5 October 2025, when the Broncos beat Melbourne 26-22 to break a 19-year premiership drought. The title defence that followed went badly wrong: Brisbane won just eight games in 2026, which AAP noted was the worst return by a defending premier since Canterbury in 1981.
Now the club is rebuilding. Captain Adam Reynolds has retired, Payne Haas is heading to South Sydney, and on 14 October the Broncos appointed Peter O’Sullivan as general manager of recruitment ahead of the 1 November free agency window. With a new era about to start at Red Hill, it’s a good time to rank the greatest Brisbane Broncos players of all time.

How we ranked them
This list is TSB’s opinion, weighed on premierships, individual and representative honours, longevity, peak form and lasting impact in the maroon and gold. Games and tries are first-grade premiership matches for Brisbane only (finals and the 1997 Super League season included), taken from the Rugby League Project database, which matches the club records listed in the NRL Annual. Figures for current players are to the end of the 2026 season. Multi-club careers count only the Broncos years.
25. Corey Oates (2013-2024)
Broncos games: 216 (121 tries)
Premierships: None
Key honours: Third on the club’s all-time try list; Queensland Origin representative
