Jackson Koivun of San Jose, California won the 3M Open in Minnesota on Sunday to become the 10th youngest golfer to win on the PGA Tour since 2000. He was 21 years old, two months and four days. Here are the 10 youngest golfers ever to win on the PGA Tour.

10) Matthew Wolff–

Just like Koivun, Wolff won the 3M Open. The native of Simi Valley, California won the 2019 3M Open after shooting a four round score of -21 for his only PGA Tour title. Wolff defeated eventual multiple major champions Bryson DeChambeau and Collin Morikawa by a stroke. At the time of the 3M Open win, Wolff was 20 years, two months and 23 days.

9) Tom Kim–

The native of Seoul, South Korea, who also goes by the first name of Joo-hyung, won the 2022 Wyndham Championship at 20 years, one month and 17 days. Kim posted a winning score of -20, and beat fellow South Korean Sungjae Im, and American John Huh, rather easily by five strokes.

8) Chick Evens–

The Western Open has a rich history. The tournament was founded in 1899. The 1910 champion was amateur Chick Evens, who defeated Scotland’s George Simpson 6&5 at Chicago’s Beverly at the age of 20 years, one month and 15 days. Evens went on to win the 1916 United States Open for his only major title.

7) Nick Dunlap

The native of Huntsville, Alabama won the 2024 American Express title in southern California at the age of 20 years and 29 days. Dunlap became the first amateur to win on the PGA Tour since Phil Mickelson won in Tucson in 1991. Dunlap’s winning score was -29 and beat South Africa’s Christiaan Bezuidenhout by a stroke. Dunlap went on to win the Barracuda Championship later that year and was named the 2024 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

6) Gene Sarazen

The native of Harrison, New York became one of the greatest golfers of all-time as he won seven major titles. However, Sarazen’s first PGA Tour win was the 1922 Southern (Spring) Open, the only time the event ever took place. Despite a poor score of +10 in New Orleans, Sarazen dominated the field, as he beat his closest competitor, American Leo Diegel by eight strokes. Sarazen’s age at the time was 20 years and five days.

5) Jordan Spieth

The last PGA Tour winner to win as a teenager, Dallas’s Jordan Spieth was only 19 years, 11 months and 17 days when he won the 2013 John Deere Classic. Spieth, who like Sarazen, went on to have a brilliant golf career (has won three major titles). In Illinois 13 years ago, Spieth posted a winning score of -19 and beat Canadian David Hearn and two-time major champion Zach Johnson in a playoff.

4) John McDermott

The youngest major champion ever, American John McDermott of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was only 19 years, 10 months and 14 days old when he won the 1911 United States Open at the Chicago Golf Club in Wheaton, Illinois. McDermott posted a score of +3 and beat Simpson and American Mike Brady in a playoff. McDermott also won the 1912 United States Open in Buffalo.

3) Ralph Guldahi

Like Spieth, Guldahi was a native of Dallas. At the age of 19 years, two months and three days, he won the 1931 Santa Monica Open. Also like Spieth, Guldahi also won three majors as he won the 1937 and 1938 United States Open, and 1939 Masters.

2) Harry Cooper

The native of Leatherhead, England won the 1923 Galveston Open championship at 19 years and four days. This was Cooper’s first of 29 PGA Tour wins.

1) Charles Kocsis

Guldahi was not the only teenaged golfer to win on the PGA Tour in 1931. At the age of 18 years, six months and nine days, Chuck Kocsis made golf history when he won the 1931 Michigan Open.
