AFL Team Lists: Sydney vs Adelaide – The Biggest Betting Impacts From Team List

21 hours ago - Sportingbase AFL Team Lists: Sydney vs Adelaide – The Biggest Betting Impacts From Team List Image
The AFL team lists are in for Sydney vs Adelaide, with several key changes creating new betting opportunities ahead of tonight’s clash at the SCG. From Sydney welcoming back several important players to Adelaide losing two experienced stars, we’ve analysed the biggest ins and outs that could influence the betting markets.

With player markets, line betting and totals often shifting after the final teams are confirmed, here are the biggest selection impacts punters should know before first bounce.

Biggest Ins – Sydney

Logan McDonald

McDonald returns to strengthen Sydney’s forward line and provides another genuine marking target inside 50. His inclusion should ease some of the scoring burden on Tom Papley and Charlie Curnow while making Sydney’s forward structure significantly more dangerous. He also shapes as a value option in the anytime goalscorer market.

Braeden Campbell

Campbell’s return gives the Swans another elite ball user and adds quality to their outside run. His kicking ability should help Sydney generate cleaner entries inside 50 and creates additional value in disposal markets if he resumes his usual wing role.

Malcolm Rosas

Rosas adds speed and pressure at ground level and gives Sydney another small forward capable of capitalising on turnovers. His pace could create headaches for Adelaide’s defence if the Swans dominate territory.

Biggest Outs – Sydney

Caiden Cleary

Cleary makes way as Sydney reshuffles its line-up following last week’s defeat. While not a major betting mover individually, his omission allows Sydney to bring back more experienced talent.

Joel Hamling

Hamling’s omission slightly reduces Sydney’s defensive depth, but the Swans still retain plenty of experience behind the ball through Callum Mills, Dane Rampe and Nick Blakey.

Biggest Ins – Adelaide

Isaac Cumming

Cumming returns after injury and immediately strengthens Adelaide’s outside run and ball movement. His ability to carry the football and use it efficiently should help the Crows transition from defence and makes his disposal market worth monitoring.

Hugo Hall-Kahan

The young midfielder comes into the side following Rory Laird’s injury and will be given an opportunity to play an important role through the middle. While inexperienced, he helps maintain Adelaide’s midfield rotations.

Biggest Outs – Adelaide

Rory Laird

Laird’s injury is one of the biggest selection blows of the round. Adelaide loses an experienced inside midfielder who consistently wins contested possessions and clearances, placing greater responsibility on Jordan Dawson, Sam Berry and James Peatling around stoppages.

Taylor Walker

Walker has been managed this week, removing one of Adelaide’s most experienced key forwards and a proven goal scorer. Without him, the Crows will rely more heavily on Riley Thilthorpe, Darcy Fogarty and Izak Rankine to provide scoreboard impact.

Early Betting Verdict

The biggest takeaway from the confirmed team lists is Adelaide losing both Rory Laird and Taylor Walker, while Sydney regains several important players including Logan McDonald and Braeden Campbell. Those changes strengthen the Swans at both ends of the ground while reducing Adelaide’s experience through the midfield and inside 50.

From a betting perspective, Sydney head-to-head, Sydney’s line, Logan McDonald anytime goalscorer, and Errol Gulden and Chad Warner disposal markets become some of the strongest betting angles following the confirmed team selections. Adelaide may also lean more heavily on Jordan Dawson and Izak Rankine, making both attractive options in player markets.
