Black Book: Horses You Must Follow From Randwick 26/7

The replays and sectional times have been reviewed from Saturday’s Randwick meeting. Our analyst is keen to follow a Widdup mare that produced a tough on-speed effort after some strong early sectionals.

Hasty Honey

Hasty Honey jumped from a wide gate, which is always hard work from the tough 1800m start. She was forced to work hard to sit outside the leader in a race run at a strong tempo and worked her way to a clear leader before the turn, before kicking clear to a big lead at the 300m. She looked the winner until Investment mowed her down after having a soft run at the back. There was 3.3L gap back to 3rd and the race leader faded to finish 24L last. She looks to have a Saturday win to round out the prep.
