February 14, 2023
Our form analyst has looked over the replays & sectional times from Randwick on Saturday and has placed his list of horses you must follow below.
LEARNING TO FLY
Bookmakers were happy to take her on in the Inglis Millenium due to her outside barrier but this imposing superbly bred two-year-old filly was simply too classy for her rivals. Despite sitting wide and giving away a start she proved too good, albeit narrowly. She’s the best two-year-old seen this season.
ICEBATH
Under-rated mare who looks in for another great money earning campaign judging by her first-up fourth in the Apollo Stakes. She finished off her last 200 metres in 10.91 seconds and ran her last 600 metres in 33.32 seconds the second fastest for the race.
MO’UNGA
He’s also back and in for another great preparation. Despite racing tight with Icebath over the final 200 metres his finishing split was 10.89 seconds only bettered by Fangirl (10.71 seconds) and Anamoe (10.8 seconds).
MR MOZART
A horror watch for his backers. For a horse who normally leads he settled last after he missed the start. Then in the straight he had little galloping room but he still managed to finish a close fourth behind Quantico. Racing NSW stewards questioned his rider Jason Collett who explained that the gelding was fractious in the barriers and after that he had little option other than to go back.
