The Buffalo Bills beat the Los Angeles Rams 37-34 in overtime on Monday Night Football, with Tyler Bass kicking a 45-yard winner after Rams kicker Harrison Mevis had a potential winning kick blocked.
The Rams forced overtime when Kyren Williams scored from a yard out with five seconds left in regulation, capping a wild fourth quarter in Los Angeles that produced five touchdowns, according to ESPN’s box score.
The win lifts Buffalo to 4-1, while the Rams slip to 2-3.
How overtime unfolded
Buffalo received the opening kick of overtime and a 57-yard catch by Khalil Shakir set them up at the Rams’ 22-yard line, but James Cook fumbled on the next play and Aaron Donald recovered for Los Angeles.
The Rams then drove into range, only for Greg Rousseau to block Mevis’ 48-yard attempt with 4:16 left in the extra period. Mevis had also missed from 50 yards, wide left, in the first quarter.

Josh Allen took over from there, running for 19 yards and then 13 yards to put Buffalo in field-goal range. Bass made no mistake from 45 yards with 1:55 remaining.
Stafford and Nacua fire in defeat
Matthew Stafford completed 40 of 54 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns without throwing an interception. Puka Nacua caught 17 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown from 24 targets, while Davante Adams caught two touchdown passes.
Los Angeles finished with 33 first downs to Buffalo’s 25, out-gained the Bills 454 yards to 436 and held the ball for 37:57, but came up short after the two missed field goals and a failed two-point try, with Stafford sacked on the conversion attempt after Nacua’s fourth-quarter touchdown.
Allen does it with his legs
Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception, and led the Bills in rushing with 121 yards from 10 carries. He also scored a 1-yard touchdown and threw a two-point conversion pass to Dalton Kincaid early in the fourth quarter.
Cook ran for 111 yards and two touchdowns from 25 carries, including a 5-yard score with 1:39 left in regulation that looked like the winner. Bass made all three of his field-goal attempts but missed an extra point after Keon Coleman’s third-quarter touchdown.
