Race 5 – 2 Edison

Followers of The Plunge’s Best Bets will be aware that we have been on him his last two wins and there doesn’t appear to be any reason to jump off now despite the short price. The mile and the wet track will suit his tough style of racing and although he goes up 3kg in weight, he will benefit from a drop in class. He should get an easy enough time up front and as usual it will take something very tough to get past him.

Race 7 – 7 De Grawin

De Grawin caught the eye in a recent trial where the 4yo mare sat wide on the speed after they went relatively quick up front. She remained strong late, winning the trial under a strong hold from Rachel King who retains the ride here despite winning on Our Bellagio Miss last start. She comes off a flawless preparation last time in where she worked through the grades winning at Wyong, Nowra and finishing the prep with a win at Randwick. All those wins came on wet tracks. Looks a good bet.

Race 8 – 4 Cisco Bay

Cisco Bay flew home from the tail of the field last start to finish 3^rd on a day where nothing was making ground from the back of the field. He loves a wet track but showed the start before that he is in career best form by winning the Nowra Cup on a dry surface.  I was hoping for a rise in distance to 1800m so coming back to 1550m from 1600m isn’t ideal but I will still be having something small on here whilst hoping for a wet track over 1800m next start.
