Best Of The Best – Our 3 Best Bets For This Saturday 16/1

Zing and All Time Legend returned a great result for subscribers last weekend where we profited 5 units across 3 bets.Ā This week a Hawkes 2yo out to stamp himself as a Golden Slipper contender and a Godolphin mare who caught the eye last start headline a big day at Rosehill.

Rosehill Race 1 – 7 Remarque

The $1.65 on offer may be on the short side for some punters but I couldn’t let this Snitzel 2yo debut without making mention after what we have seen at the trials.Ā

At his first outing at the trials he jumped out and led all the way defeating subsequent Saturday winner Ranch Hand but it was his second and latest trial where he showed he may be one to keep an eye on in the lead up to The Golden Slipper. Tommy Berry showed intent to make him settle just off the speed but when he gave him a slight squeeze at the furlong he blew his rivals away in quick fashion.Ā

Some punters may like to take the short price, others may like to all-up and others may prefer to take the $17 on offer in all-in markets for the Slipper where the quote may halve with a big win here. I’ll be having something on to cover bets later in the day.

Rosehill Race 2 – 3 Tailleur & 2 Bulletin

A small but hot field for this BM88 over 1100m presents an odds-on favourite in The Bopper, which I’m happy to take on here. He looks beautifully placed on paper winning a Listed race and coming back to a BM88 only carrying 54.5kg but I believe this is more difficult against the older horses and also have queries where he is going to get to on a tricky map from the wide draw.

Tailleur has been freshened after a great run last start where she finished second after sitting 3 wide off a hectic speed. She was still solid through the line and I expect her to sit about midfield off a hot pace and be strong late.

Bulletin is the most interesting runner on the card today and I can’t let him go around without something on. As a 2yo he won a stakes race at The Breeders Cup in the US. He’s looked sharp finishing 2nd in two trials and was scrathed from running on a wet track last week which suggests the Waterhouse/Bott yard believe he has a win in him 1st-up.

Tip: 2 Units Win Tailleur @3 & 1 Unit Win Bulletin @11 With TopSport

Rosehill Race 7 – 6 Blaze A Trail

Blaze A Trail represents great value shooting for 3 straight victories 1st-up over 1300m. The 3yo colt looked primed winning his 3rd trial this time in work at Randwick where he pipped Bulletin late. He contested Group 2 races as a 2yo and looks beautifully placed to secure his first city win here.

Tip: 2 Units Win Blaze A Trial @8.5 With TopSport
