The women’s singles finalists for the 2025 French Open have been determined. The finalists are the two top players in the world–world number one Aryna Sabalenka of Minsk, Belarus will face world number two Coco Gauff of Atlanta, Georgia.

Sabalenka has 10,683 points, and Gauff has 6863 points. Sabalenka advanced to the final by beating world number five and four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek of Poland, 7-6, 4-6, 6-0. This is the second time this year that Swiatek was bageled in an individual set. In the quarterfinals of the Madrid Open, Swiatek lost 6-0 to Madison Keys of the United States in the opening set, before storming back to win the match 0-6, 6-3, 6-2.

Gauff meanwhile is in the final after a dominant semifinal win over French star Lois Boisson,  6-1, 6-2. Gauff broke Boisson six times in seven opportunities. Gauff won 62% of the points on her first serve, and 80% of the points on her second serve. Boisson only won 38% of the points on the first serve, and 43% of the points on the second serve.

Sabalenka is in her sixth grand slam final. She previously won the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024, and the United States Open in 2024. Sabalenka also reached the final of the 2023 United States Open (lost to Gauff), and the final of the 2025 Australian Open (lost to Keys).

Gauff is in her second grand slam final. In addition to her 2023 US Open title, she lost to Iga Swiatek in the final of the 2022 French Open.

Gauff and Sabalenka have played each other 10 times. They have won five matches each. Their only meeting in 2025 was the Madrid Open final, which Sabalenka won 6-3, 7-6.
