Aaron Rodgers named NFL MVP

For the fourth time in his career, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers has been named the National Football League Most Valuable Player. He previously received the honour in 2011, 2014 and 2020.
Rodgers had the highest quarterback rating this year at 111.9, and completed 366 passes in 511 attempts for 4115 yards, 37 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also guided the Packers to the number one seed in the NFC with a record of 13 wins and three losses. In fact, the Packers had the best record in the entire NFL during the regular season.

Other people who were honoured included Mike Vrabel of the Tennessee Titans (coach of the year), wide receiver Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams (offensive player of the year), T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers (defensive player of the year), Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals (offensive rookie of the year), Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys (defensive rookie of the year), and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals (comeback player go the year). The fact that Chase was honoured is no surprise as he was regularly recognized in our weekly feature of the top five rookies of the week.
The NFL also announced the eight people who will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame class for 2022. They include Green Bay Packers defensive back Leroy Butler, San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Bryant Young, New Orleans Saints linebacker Sam Mills, Oakland Raiders wide receiver Cliff Branch, New England Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour, Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Tony Boselli, St. Louis Rams head coach Dick Vermeil, and referee Art McNally.
