49ers trade wide receiver Marquise Goodwin to Eagles

According to Rogers Sportsnet on Saturday, the San Francisco 49ers traded wide receiver Marquise Goodwin of Lubbock, Texas to the Philadelphia Eagles with a sixth-round draft pick in the 2020 National Football League Draft for a sixth-round draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The 49ers got the 190th overall pick in the draft and the Eagles got the 210th overall pick in the draft.
With the 190th overall pick, the 49ers selected tight end Charlie Woerner of Tiger, Georgia from the University of Georgia Bulldogs. With the 210th overall pick, the Eagles selected offensive tackle Prince Tega Wanogho of Delta State, Nigeria from the University of Auburn Tigers.
The Eagles will become Goodwin’s third NFL team. In addition to the last three seasons with the 49ers, he has played four seasons with the Buffalo Bills.
Last season in San Francisco, Goodwin only played in nine games and had 12 catches for 186 yards and one touchdown. Goodwin’s touchdown catch was a 38-yard touchdown pass from Jimmy Garoppolo in a 41-17 49ers win over the Cincinnati Bengals on September 15, 2019. He missed seven games last season due to injuries to his knee and toe.
A long jumper, Goodwin represented the United States at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. He finished in 10th place. Goodwin also won the silver medal in men’s long jump for the United States at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, China, and at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, as well as the gold medal at an International Association of Athletics Federation Diamond League competition in Birmingham, England on June 5, 2016.
