Attrition and Jamie Mott won the Group 2 Toyota Forklifts Hill Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill for a second time, getting over Lindermann by a half-neck with Eliyass third. Here’s what the jockeys said.
It is always important to hear what the jockeys say after the race, as you can forgive a horse’s bad run or even find a winner next start, so head to the post-race comments below.
FAWKNER PARK (Boris Thornton) – 8th
Below par performance from this horse. Had a nice run in transit. Just wasn’t able to find to the line like we expected.
PORTLAND (Tyler Schiller) – 7th
I thought his run was good. WFA probably not as easy for him. He will be better next start on a softer track as well. Back to a handicap he’ll be running well.
MILITARIZE (Zac Lloyd) – 6th
Just popped up as the gates opened. Very unfortunate timing. A bit of a non-event from where we were.

KOVALICA (Tommy Berry) – 5th
Usual honest race by him. 2400m looks to suit now.
KING PEDRO (Kerrin McEvoy) – 4th
We were back in a really slowly run race. He has run really well.
ELIYASS (Tim Clark) – 3rd
Tracked Lindermann and he was game in defeat. Gave his all.

LINDERMANN (Nash Rawiller) – 2nd
Very proud of him. He gave himself a lovely time. Quickened like the winner. Felt like the winner. I was in trouble with 100m to go. He was there for the fight right to the line.
ATTRITION (Jamie Mott) – 1st
He’s won it two years ago and second last year. It’s a race that Mitch knows how to target with him. It’s obviously a good prizemoney race too so well done to him and his connections.
Nash had the clock in the head, gave his horse every chance. Getting to the furlong he still had a length and a bit on me. I was slowly getting there. Lindermann wasn’t stopping, so for my bloke to be able to get over the top of him those last few strides was amazing.
