2024 NFL Week 8 Preview: Our Expert Tips & Staking Plan

We are closing on on the halfway point of the NFL season. We are starting to see which teams are real contenders and which will be picking at the top of the draft. The big trades are starting to roll in as well so that will change some of these games.

I will likely be adding some more picks before the games so make sure to check back.

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns

Today we are going to be backing lots of home underdogs. The Browns are the first of them. Jameis Winston will start for Cleveland with Deshaun Watson on the sidelines for the foreseeable, and it could be a big boost to this offence. Watson had been performing awfully, and Winston will certainly stretch the field and open things up for the likes of Nick Chubb in the running game.

The Ravens have started to play some really good football, but in this heated rivalry we often get some closer games than you would expect and this could be another.

New York Jets @ New England Patriots

I really believe this Patriots team is close to breaking out (relatively) and going on a bit of a run. Drake Maye is playing fantastically, and when they can figure out things on defence they will be dangerous. This team was one of the best defences in the league a year ago and the parts are not too different from then.

The Jets have just been a disappointment all year and while they may be a stronger unit on paper, I would not want to give 6.5 or 7 points on the road to anyone.

Atlanta Falcons @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have suffered some brutal injuries at receiver over the past week, but for me this one comes down to trust. I trust the Buccaneers to get it done and this Falcons team is so hit or miss that I do not want to be giving points to a good team on the road, even a Bucs team without Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Chicago Bears @ Washington Commanders

The battle of the first two picks in this year’s draft and it should be a good one. Both Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels have more than found their feet in the league and could be a rivalry we see for years to come.

In this one I am going for the QB that has done it since day one in the league and that is Daniels and the Commanders. The home advantage gives them the edge for me in what could be one of the most exciting games we see today.
