2024 Atlanta Falcons Projected Finish, Key Signings & Fantasy Stars
July 22, 2024

In the second of a 32-part series, we are featuring all National Football League teams with a prediction of where each team will finish within their division, key off-season acquisitions and their top fantasy stars. Here are the Atlanta Falcons.
Key Off-Season Acquisitions
The Atlanta Falcons made significant changes when it came to the offense in the offseason. They have acquired quarterback Kirk Cousins of Barrington, Illinois, and signed him to a massive four-year deal worth $180 million. The Falcons also opened their wallet, and gave Cousins a premier receiver to throw to. They signed Darnell Mooney of Gadsden, Alabama to a three-year deal worth $39 million. The Falcons acquired wide receiver Rondale Moore of New Albany, Indiana in a trade with the Arizona Cardinals for quarterback Desmond Ridder.
Now the real questions will be if Cousins and Mooney can stay healthy. Cousins injured his Achilles against the Green Bay Packers while with the Minnesota Vikings and was done for the year. Mooney, meanwhile suffered a concussion late in the season for the Chicago Bears after a career-low 414 receiving yards. The Falcons will be hoping they get the Mooney that starred for the Bears in 2021, who had 1055 receiving yards. Moore, meanwhile had 40 catches for 352 yards and one touchdown in 2023 with the Cardinals.
The Falcons also made a head coaching change as Raheem Morris of Newark, New Jersey replaced Arthur Smith. Morris has head coaching experience with the Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Stars
The Falcons have three fantasy players ranked in the top 10 at their respective positions. At running back, Bijan Robinson of Tucson, Arizona is ranked fourth. This past season, Robinson had 214 rushes for 976 rushing yards, and four touchdowns, along with 58 catches for 487 receiving yards and four more touchdowns as a NFL rookie.
At tight end, Kyle Pitts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is ranked fifth. This past year he had 53 catches for 667 receiving yards and three touchdowns. At kicker, Younghoe Koo of Seoul, South Korea is ranked fifth as well. He made 32 of 37 field goals in 2024, and 27 of 28 converts.
Projected Finish
The Falcons should be favoured to win the NFC South this year. Their defense was considered above average a year ago, and now their offense could be ranked in the top 10 as well.
