NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS VS BRISBANE BRONCOS –Â THURSDAY AUGUST 5, 7:50PM, SUNSHINE COAST STADIUM
The Newcastle Knights were impressive when defeating the Canberra Raiders last week as they look to keep their finals hopes alive with a win over the Broncos here.
The run home looks favourable for the Knights, with each of their remaining matches coming against teams with the same or worse record as their own.
The Broncos have looked a much better side in recent weeks with a victory over the Cowboys last week.
- Â 2 units Knights -13.5 @ $2 with TopSport
CANBERRA RAIDERS VS ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA DRAGONS –Â FRIDAY AUGUST 6, 6:00PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM
This is a must-win game for both teams as they look to cling on to a top 8 spot.
Missed tackles and penalties cost Canberra big time in their 10-point loss to the Knights last week but they do have a prime opportunity to atone against a Dragons outfit that has fallen apart in recent weeks.
The Dragons will be without Ben Hunt which is going to make things very tough.
- Â Â 2 units Raiders -11.5 @ $2Â with TopSport
PARRAMATTA EELS VS SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS –Â FRIDAY AUGUST 6, 8:05PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM
This is set to be one of the biggest games of the round with the Eels looking to hold their top 4 spot while the Rabbitohs will be looking to stamp their authority heading into the finals.
The Eels will be keen to bounce back and distance themselves from the red-hot Chooks, but this does look a difficult assignment for them with an injury cloud hanging overhead.
While Mitchell Moses is set to return from a back injury, Waqa Blake and Reagan Campbell-Gillard both remain in some doubt.
With Ferguson still looking shaky in defence, the Rabbitohs will be targeting him with their potent left-side attack.

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS VS CRONULLA SHARKS –Â SATURDAY AUGUST 7, 3:00PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
It’s a win at all costs game for the Sharks as they look to hold on to 8th spot on the ladder while the Warriors will be looking to build on their victory over the Tigers last week.
Cronulla has managed only two wins from its last five games as they look to forget all about last week’s ugly loss to Manly at Suncorp.
- Â 1 unit Sharks -10.5 @ $2 with TopSport
- Â 1 unit over 54.5 total match points @ $1.90 with TopSport
SYDNEY ROOSTERS VS PENRITH PANTHERS –Â SATURDAY AUGUST 7, 5:30PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
Another top of the table blockbuster here with the Panthers looking to bounce back from an embarrassing loss to the Storm last week.
The Panthers look likely to spend another week without Nathan Cleary, although there is some positive news on the Isaah Yeo front.
It’s hard to see the Panthers troubling the Roosters without Cleary here.
- Â 1 unit Roosters +10 @ $2Â with TopSport
- Â 2 units under 48 total match points @ $1.80Â with TopSport
MANLY SEA EAGLES VS MELBOURNE STORM –Â SATURDAY AUGUST 7, 7:35PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
This has to be the most exciting fixture out of the Round!
The Manly Sea Eagles will be looking to make it four victories in a row for the first time since 2017 while the Melbourne Storm have extended their winning streak to a club-record 16 and sit just three away from equalling the all-time record.
Head to head, Melbourne has won their last three games over Manly and outscored them 84-30 during that time frame.
- Â 2 units Storm -11.5 @ $2 with TopSport
CANTERBURY BULLDOGS VS WESTS TIGERS –Â SUNDAY AUGUST 8, 2:00PM, MORETON DAILY STADIUM
Canterbury has now lost six straight games following last week’s 34-6 defeat against the Titans, a disappointing performance from Trent Barrett’s men after two honourable losses to the Sharks and Rabbitohs.
The Tigers are still battling to find consistent form but have a good opportunity to hit back here.
- Â 1 unit Tigers -6.5 @ $2Â with TopSport

GOLD COAST TITANS VS NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS –Â SUNDAY AUGUST 8, 4:05PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM
The Titans are back in the eight after an impressive 28 point victory over the Bulldogs last week & now they get a great chance to cement themselves in the top 8.
Todd Payten, meanwhile, will be hoping to spoil the Titans’ party, but it’s fair to say the Cowboys won’t hold particularly fond memories of the Gold Coast after they were walloped 44-8 when they met back in March.
- Â 1 unit over 54.5 total match points @ $1.90Â with TopSport
