2021 NRL Round 20 Preview: Our Selections & Staking Plan
July 29, 2021
We managed to deliver another nice profit last week and will look to build on that here with a huge 24 units staked across the eight games.
2021 Season Tipping Results:
- 107 wins from 203 tips
- + 24.22 Units Of Profit
- $2,422 Profit Based On $100 Units
- 52.7% Strike Rate
SYDNEY ROOSTERS VS PARRAMATTA EELS –Â THURSDAY, JULY 29, 7:50PM, BB PRINT STADIUM
After consecutive losses against Penrith and Melbourne, the Roosters have strung together three wins, including a dominant 28-8 result against the Knights last week.
The same can’t be said for the Eels however as the blue and gold failed to get the job done against a brave Raiders outfit on the Gold Coast.
Parramatta is undefeated in its last 10 games as the away favourite, while the Eels also manhandled the Roosters by a score of 31-18 when they met earlier in May.
This game could really go either way
- 1 unit Roosters +3.5 @ $2 with TopSport
- 3 units over 45.5 total match points @ $1.85 with TopSport
WESTS TIGERS VS NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS –Â FRIDAY, JULY 30, 6:00PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
There can’t be much excitement around for this game with both teams looking to miss the top 8 and when you add the loss of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck it makes it very hard to see this being the thriller of the round.
That being said, it should be a high-scoring affair.
- 1 unit over 55.5 @ $1.95 with TopSport
BRISBANE BRONCOS VS NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS –Â FRIDAY, JULY 30, 8:05PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
Both teams got a boost in confidence after their losses last week which sounds strange but you consider it was against the Panthers & Storm it’s a bit easier to understand.
Brisbane managed to put a late scare into the Panthers after trailing 18-0, while the Cowboys also pushed the Storm to the brink in a narrow 20-16 loss up in Townsville.
Defensively, we’re talking about two of the worst sides in the competition here, so it wouldn’t be surprising if we get a typical see-saw affair between these two rivals.
- 2 units Cowboys @ $2.01 with TopSport
- 1 unit over 52.5 total match points @ $1.90Â with TopSport

ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA DRAGONS VS SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS –Â SATURDAY, JULY 31, 3:00PM, BROWNE PARK
The Dragons took a huge hit to their top 8 hopes when they were demolished by the Titans last week while the Rabbitohs sounded another alarm to top 4 rivals with a clinical 60-22 win over the Warriors.
With a healthy outfit now on their side, the Bunnies were impressive as Tom Burgess, Jayden Su’A and Josh Mansour all picked up a double in a huge victory.
The line is set at -23.5 but that shouldn’t be an issue here.
- 4 units Rabbitohs -23.5 @ $2 with TopSport
- 3 units Latrell Mitchell anytime try scorer @ $1.74 with TopSport
- 1 unit Latrell Mitchell first try scorer @ $9.50Â with TopSport
- 1 unit Mansour first try scorer @ $6Â with TopSport
NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS VS CANBERRA RAIDERS –Â SATURDAY, JULY 31, 5:30PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
Canberra’s defensive effort was impressive last week in their two-point win over Parramatta, a performance Ricky Stuart will be hoping his side can build on with a few big games coming up against the Storm, Manly and the Roosters.
The Knights were embarrassed by the Roosters last week but with Bradman Best, David Klemmer and Mitchell Pearce potentially back from injury this week, they could hit back here.
(Bets here are only to be placed if Pearce plays so wait for the final team lists)
- 1 unit Knights @ $2.15 with TopSport
- 1 unit Ponga anytime try scorer @ $2.18Â with TopSport
MELBOURNE STORM VS PENRITH PANTHERS –Â SATURDAY, JULY 31, 7:35PM, SUNCORP STADIUM
The Penrith Panthers will start as underdogs for the first time since they lost to the Melbourne Storm in last year’s Grand Final.
When you look at their injury list it’s not hard to see why.
Nathan Cleary, James Fisher-Harris, Brian To’o, Isaah Yeo and Tyrone May will all sit out this week which is sure to cause huge issues for the Panthers.
Melbourne was given one of its toughest tests in months during Round 19 and from an unlikely source, coming from behind to defeat North Queensland 20-16.
- 3 units Storm -18.5 @ $2 with TopSport
CANTERBURY BANKSTOWN BULLDOGS VS GOLD COAST TITANS –Â SUNDAY, AUGUST 1, 2:00PM, CBUS SUPER STADIUM
The Titans were impressive last week when demolishing the Dragons and in doing so could see themselves back in the top 8 with a win and some ladder luck here.
While a win has eluded them, the Dogs have shown some encouraging signs in their last three losses to the Roosters, Rabbitohs and Sharks, while they’ll also be eager to build on their honourable 30-20 loss to the Titans back in Round 11.
- 1 unit over 53.5 total match points @ $1.90Â with TopSport

CRONULLA SHARKS VS MANLY SEA EAGLES –Â SUNDAY, AUGUST 1, 4:05PM, MORETON DAILY STADIUM
The Sea Eagles could have a top 4 finish in their sites if they can secure a win here while the Sharks will see this as one of the most important games of the season with a top 8 finish on the line.
Manly were a little hot and cold last week which may be a result of the big guns being a little flat after a tough origin period but it’s hard to see the Sharks causing them too much trouble here.
- 1 unit Sea Eagles -18.5 @ $2 with TopSport
